Red Dot Design award for Proxes Sport 2
June 16, 2023
Proxes Sport 2 Ultra High performance Tire has won a prestigious Red Dot design award in the 2023 competition.
The Red Dot jury was impressed by the asymmetric tread pattern with diagonal lateral cross grooves that ensure the even distribution of contact forces, enhancing braking performance on both wet and dry roads. The rubber compound also varies: while a flexible polymer matrix is used on the inside so that the tyre hugs the road surface, a special elastic rubber has been chosen for the outside to improve the grip. The optimised sidewall profile controls the high forces generated during cornering.
Since 1955 Red Dot have been judging the best designs and has grown to become one of the largest design competitions in the world. Each year products are honored in the Red Dot Award: Product Design for their aesthetic appeal, functionality, or innovation. Winners of the design award share an outstanding design quality.
Proxes Sport 2, launched in 2022, was engineered using nano technology to manage the performance of high torque powertrains. Sporty drivers can enjoy engaging and sustainable performance in safety thanks to its precise handling and exceptional wet grip.
The tire’s performance has already gained recognition. Earlier this year, the tire was tested by Auto Bild Sportscars and awarded a “Good” recommendation. This latest Red Dot design award underlines the excellence in product design of Toyo Tires.
